Marques de Prado is the name of another of the Extra Virgin Olive Oils with Denomination of Origin Baena produced by Cortijo de Suerte Alta, cultivated, like all its varieties, organically.
The family property is located in Albendín (Córdoba). And it would not be until 1996, when they would begin to dedicate themselves to organic cultivation, working with different varieties such as Picuda, Hojiblanca and Picual.
In its Marques de Prado variety, two olive types are used: Picual, which comes from the youngest olive groves of the farm, (10 and 40 years old), and Arbequina, with an age per olive of 5 years.
As we have already mentioned on other occasions, the Picual variety has a very characteristic flavor, largely due to its high level of antioxidants, which will remind us of green leaf aromas, while the Arbequina variety is easily recognizable for leaving us with a very peculiar moderate spicy sensation.
It is, without a doubt, an Olive Oil with a blend of aromas that makes it unique. You can find it as usual here, (Buy Marqués de Prado from Cortijo de Suerte Alta)
The Oracle of Delfos said that the one who gives the city the best gift would be the one to name it.
Poseidon build a river of salted water and Atenea created the olive tree.
Atenea won and the olive tree was the symbol and the most representative icon of the Greek and the Roman empires.
From the the olive tree humans extract the juice of the olives, the olive oil.
